4. Triamcinolone 

Nasacort Allergy contains Triamcinolone as an active ingredient which is another steroid. This is a pharmacy-only product, recommended for use in adults for the management of Hay Fever symptoms.

The recommended dose for this nasal spray is 2 sprays in each nostril once a day. Patients can lessen the dosage to one spray into each nostril once symptoms improve. The improvements in symptom control on the first day of use can be seen by patients. However, patients may need to wait 3 to 4 days to achieve the best effects.

5. Mometasone 

Mometasone Nasal Spray is the latest addition to steroid sprays available over-the-counter. This is licensed for the treatment of the nasal symptoms of allergies for adults aged 18+. The usual dose for this is two sprays into each nostril once daily. Once symptoms are controlled, it is possible to decrease the dosage to one spray into each nostril once daily.
